Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky was born January 26th, 1961. He was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and a lot of people say that he is the BEST hockey player that ever set foot on the ice and I am one of them. He was born in, Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He was also known as “The Great One”.

Wayne Gretzky was a managing partner of the Phoenix Coyotes National Hockey League team and he had a remarkable career in children’s leagues in Ontario. When he was 6 years old, his father, Walter, built a rink in the family’s backyard, and it was there, that Wayne skated for hours on end, every day, practicing his skating, shooting, and stick handling and learning everything about the game from his dad. “It was for self- preservation”. Walter admitted that he got sick of taking Wayne to the park and sitting there for hours freezing to death. From the time he was 6, he played on many leagues above his age. Also Wayne Gretzky has a wife named Janet and they have 5 kids, 2 girls and 3 boys. The girls are, Paulina and Emma, and the boys are, Ty, Trevor, and Tristan. I call Wayne Gretzky, “The Great Gretzky”.
